WEB DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT

Not all websites are created equal. Even if two websites look identical, they may actually be quite different. Similar to a car, until you “look under the hood” it can be difficult to tell the difference. Resolved Design develops sites using industry best practices.

Our sites are XHTML Transitional 1.1 and CSS 2.1 validated. This means that we verify (using W3C validation tools), that our clients sites conform to international standards for HTML and CSS coding. You may wonder why you should care about that…after all, if your site looks good and functions properly, why does it matter?

Here are two good reasons. First, following these standards means that your site will not “break” when future browser versions are released. If a site is developed without W3C validation, it may look and function fine now, but in a future browser (say the next version of Firefox for example), it could not display properly anymore because the non-standard coding was interpreted one way by the current browser, but a different way by the next one. A second issue is future updates. If you need to have changes or additions to your site at a later date, and you don’t use Resolved Design for whatever reason (perhaps you have internal development staff in the future), standardized coding practices will make it easier for someone else to make the necessary changes / additions.

But the original meaning was interactive, dynamic web sites that function more like a desktop application.
